Where Technology Meets Storytelling
On July 30, 2025, DigiAura VFX Academy hosted an industrial visit for a group of motivated students from Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology — one of South India's most prominent research-focused universities. The session was a deep-dive into the intersection of technology, creativity, and industry, exploring the full landscape of modern VFX and digital media production.
Three Industry Experts. One Immersive Day.
What made this industrial visit especially valuable was the breadth of expertise on offer. Students had direct access to three industry professionals, each bringing a distinct perspective on VFX careers and workflows.
Mr. Shankar Natarajan — VFX and Filmmaking Expert
Mr. Shankar Natarajan opened the session with an overview of the global VFX industry — from its origins in physical effects to today's AI-assisted digital pipelines. His presentation connected the technical with the creative, showing students that the best VFX professionals are both rigorous and imaginative.
Mr. Stalin — Virtual Production Specialist
Mr. Stalin's session on Virtual Production was a highlight for students with engineering and computer science backgrounds. Using Unreal Engine as the foundation, he demonstrated how real-time rendering is fundamentally changing how films and TV series are made — replacing expensive location shoots with photorealistic digital environments that directors can explore in real time.
Mr. James Thomas — Industry Pipeline Expert
Mr. James Thomas provided a comprehensive walkthrough of the end-to-end VFX pipeline — from initial brief through production, quality review, and final delivery. His session gave students a clear operational understanding of how large-scale VFX projects are managed, coordinated, and executed across global teams.
Technical Disciplines Covered
The visit provided hands-on demonstrations and expert explanations across DigiAura's core training specialisations:
